Brian M Durkan receives Safe-T-Cert for 4th year

Brian M Durkan Limited is delighted to have retained our “A” Grade Safe-T-Certification for a 4th consecutive year. This rating puts BMD in the top 10% of contractors in Ireland participating in the Safe-T-Cert scheme. The Safe-T-Cert is a certification scheme that applies solely to the construction industry. It is a scheme designed to certify the Safety Management Systems of contractors, and its aim is to improve health and safety management by setting standards and certifying those contractors whose safety management systems have been reviewed and can demonstrate that they work within the ILO guidelines for Safety Management Systems. Under the scheme contractors must also meet the basic requirements for training and competence and demonstrate that they have implemented an occupational health and safety management system which meets the requirements of the organisation, with a focus on continual improvement.

Davitt Road, a new Strategic Housing Development

Brian M Durkan Limited is pleased to announce its exciting new development on lands at the former, now disused, Dulux factory site on Davitt Road, Drimnagh, Dublin 12. Building works are planned for November on the site which overlooks The Grand Canal. The development which was granted under the fast-track scheme for large residential projects, will consist of 265 high quality one and two bedroom apartments spread across four blocks ranging from three to seven storeys. It will also include two guest apartments, a retail/café unit, a resident’s gym, meeting rooms, residents’ lounges, BBQ areas, 119 car parking spaces, electric car chargers, internal semi-public paths, public and private open spaces and all communal facilities including, refuse and bike parking.

This development is a purpose designed “build to rent’ development. With the new National Children’s Hospital coming soon, there will be pressure on the area to meet housing demands for those working in the hospital along with patient families who may also require nearby accommodation. Castleknock Lawn Tennis Club New Extension & Club Fit-Out

Brian M Durkan & Co. Ltd are delighted to have been appointed as building contractor by Castleknock Lawn Tennis Club.

The project involves construction of several extensions, increasing the capacity of the clubhouse providing additional floor space throughout while optimizing energy efficiency. Replacement of existing first floor balcony and full internal fit-out to the club.

All works will be carried out without interruption to the tennis club operations.

Brian M Durkan Awarded New Contract

Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown County Council awarded Brian M Durkan the contract to demolish the old existing bungalow at 132 Pottery Road, Dún Laoghaire, Co Dublin and build 4 one bedroom apartments.

This project was completed on schedule to a high standard of energy efficient construction to BER A1 Rated Apartments.

Brian M Durkan complied with the passive house designs and requirements for this project.
