Carrig Court is located in the heart of a vibrant community with a feast of
both existing and proposed amenities. Work has recently started on the new
Citywest Shopping Centre, with Dunnes Stores secured as the anchor tenant.
The shopping centre lies within 5 minutes walk of Carrig Court and when complete
towards the end of 2007, the centre will comprise 27 shops, alongside restaurants
and other retail oulets. There is a proposed LUAS stop at the entrance to the
shopping centre.
The National Digital Park has been a considerable success. One of the buildings
there will house a bar, restaurant and banking facilities. On site at Carrig
Court there will be a creche adding to the growing number of facilities becoming
available to the 6,500 people who already work on the campus and residents
within the locality. The figure is expected to rise to between 10,000 and 15,000
in the coming years.
In recent years the surrounding area has experienced dramatic redevelopment
with an abundance of business parks and commercial development. These include
Citywest Business Park and Park West Business Centre. The Citywest Business
Campus comprises over 360 acres. This high calibre park is a physical embodiment
of the country’s progress and economic advancement from the mid 1990’s.
The design, quality and landscaping are particularly strong features. Citywest
is also to house the Eolas University Research Campus. The project will begin
enrolling its first students shortly. 70,000 oak trees have been planted on
the perimeter and the Citywest park now comprises over 2 million square feet
of buildings.
Amenities
The private Citywest express bus links Citywest with the city centre. The proposed
extension to the LUAS will see the Tallaght line extended as far as Citywest.
The line is expected to be up and running by 2008 and is to have a stop at
the new Citywest Shopping Centre, less than five minutes walk from Carrig
Court . The Square in Tallaght is just 10 minutes drive and there are plans
afoot to further extend and increase the number of retailers within the coming
years. Carrig Court is located within easy reach of an abundance of excellent
pubs and restaurants such as Joel’s Restaurant, The Lemongrass Restaurant,
The Poitín Still, Brown’s Barn Bar and Restaurant and Citywest
Hotel, to name but a few. Brown’s Barn Restaurant and Bar has proven
to be very popular and land around it has been earmarked by the developers
for retail services.
The immediate area is served by both the 69 and 69X bus routes and a Park and
Ride facility is planned for Tallaght Town Centre. Citywest Hotel and Country
Club with its two superb pay-to-play golf courses is extremely popular, incorporating
as it does extensive restaurant and leisure facilities, and this is a decided
advantage for residents in this location.
A Green Environment
Carrig Court is beside Saggart, the heritage village which is the gateway to
Dublin and the Wicklow Mountains and is a great sporting centre. It has an
intimate feel to it with the local village shops, churches, pubs, post office
and schools. For the racing or golfing enthusiasts this area is indeed a
mecca, with an abundance of facilities, clubs ,courses and tracks within
easy reach including Punchestown, Naas and The Curragh.
